Babalily
Two of a Kind (Caro) x Bandana (Babamist)
1996 grey mare
3/4 thoroughbred 1/4 Irish Draught

Lily was purchased in 1998 as a 2-year-old from Bruce Davidson. After a season at Training and Preliminary levels at 5, Lily was bred to Mystic Replica in 2001. After a lovely foal, she came back as a seven year old and was given time to gain strength and confidence. In the fall of 2004 Lily finally gave her all at a combined test at Rubicon at Open Preliminary. It was decided to try to bring her back to eventing in the 2005 season.

She has currently competed through the preliminary level, including several top three finishes.  Lily qualified and competed in the morven park CCI* in 2005.  Sadly, however, due to a superficial injury on course we withdrew before stadium.  Lily finished off 2005 as a Grade 3 event horse with a total of 9 points, and we spent four weeks as the 10th best amateur horse/rider combination in the country. As she was five months pregnant at the time, it was an easy decision to give her plenty of time off to recover.

Lily has spent the last few seasons as a packer and teacher for my mother, Marilyn.  After several top finishes in the winter of 2009, Lily was given the summer off.  She will be lightly worked this next year but her main job will be producing our next event foal by Fleetwater Opposition.

Lily has been successfully bed via fresh, live cover, and with frozen four times throughout her career.  Each foal has been conformationally correct and has inherited their mother's size and personality. Lily will be rebred to Fleetwater Opposition for 2012.
